PS1-inspired horror anthology The Fridge is Red announced for PC!
Publisher tinyBuild has announced that they are bringing 5WORD Team’s The Fridge is Red to PC later this year. This psychological horror anthology was made to be reminiscent of old-school PlayStation horror games. In The Fridge is Red, Franks’s daughter has gone missing, with clue notes strewn about his basement pointing him towards a red fridge which supposedly has something to do with her disappearance. The clues to finding her are all there if he can put them together, but he just can’t tear his eyes away from the ominous appliance. Frank’s story serves as the first part of a twisted horror anthology featuring PS1-inspired visions of haunted locales and cursed characters, all tying back to the evil red fridge. Frank’s tale represents just one of multiple terror-filled experiences populating The Fridge is Red.
The game started off as an Epic MegaJam entry under the full title DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE RED FRIDGE, which earned attention for its introduction to a haunting universe inspired by PS1 horror classics. Now the team partners with acclaimed publisher tinyBuild to bring the full anthology to life under a shortened title. The Fridge is Red releases for Steam for PC later this year, with a demo available now on PC as part of Steam Next Fest, as revealed during the Guerrilla Collective Digital Showcase.
