Norwegian indie studio Filiokus is set to launch its debut title, Cal & Bomba, on Steam in the coming weeks. The game is a program-before-you-play puzzler that offers more than 170 handcrafted levels across three themed worlds, a prologue, and boss battles. Players guide the eccentric duo of Cal, a calculating gnome, and Bomba, his explosion-loving troll partner, as they load bombs, potions, and commands into their wagon-cannon and then watch chain reactions unfold in dazzling displays. Every misstep creates a burst of color rather than punishment, encouraging experimentation and learning through play. Offering both Normal and Hard modes, Cal & Bomba is designed to appeal to newcomers and puzzle veterans alike.
The game is rooted in the Norwegian word “matteglede”, the joy of math. Cal & Bomba is designed to spark this feeling by turning abstract logic into playful, visual problem-solving. Instead of punishing mistakes, the game turns them into colorful explosions, surprises, and opportunities to learn by doing.
