Railroads Online chugs out of Early Access this autumn!
Developer Stefan Kelnberger and publisher Astragon Entertainment have officially announced that Sandbox railway simulation Railroads Online is scheduled to launch later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while also exiting Steam Early Access. Set in a large, open game world, players can build tracks, switches, and stations to create a functioning industrial network. The game features over 20 historically accurate locomotives, representing the golden era of steam engines in the United States from the 1870s through the early 1900s. These include notable models such as the Montezuma, Baldwin steam engines, the Class 125, and the “Betsy.” Many of the locomotives in Railroads Online no longer exist or are only preserved in rare instances. The development team has used specialist publications, preserved documents, and museum models to recreate them as accurately as possible.
Key Features:
- Open sandbox world to explore
- Online multiplayer mode supporting up to 16 players
- Build and manage railroad infrastructure, including tracks, switches, and stations
- Historically accurate locomotives and equipment
- Realistic railroad physics and locomotive operation
- Earn money by transporting goods to grow your business and purchase additional locomotives, cars, and equipment

Railroads Online will be released digitally this autumn for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a price of €39.99, with a retail version for PlayStation 5 to follow. The PC version of Railroads Online is currently available on Steam Early Access. With the full release in Fall 2024, the price will be €34.99. As a gesture of appreciation, all players who supported the game during its Early Access phase will receive the Pioneer DLC for free upon full release.
