Relive The Gilded Age on DVD this month
Warner Bros Home Entertainment has revealed the release date for season one of HBO series The Gilded Age, a costume drama created by Emmy and Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey. Set in the US during the 19th century, The Gilded Age follows the young and naive Marian Brook who goes to live in New City with her aunts after the death of her father. Marian then becomes entangled in the dazzling lives of her fabulously wealthy neighbors, the so-called new rich, much to the dismay of her aunts who belong to the elite with old money.
The Gilded Age boasts a five-star cast including Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire) and Jeanne Tripplehorn (Big Love). Other cast members include Christine Baranski (Mamma Mia!), Denée Benton (UnREAL), Louisa Jacobson (Gone Hollywood), Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), Simon Jones (Downton Abbey) and Harry Richardson (Poldark). Season 1 will be available in a 3 DVD boxed set from the 27th of July and features a slew of bonus materials alongside all 9 episodes.
