Retro arcade racer Slipstream coming to consoles soon

Today, publisher BlitWorks has announced that Slipstream, a retro arcade racer, will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on April 7. Slipstream has been in development for over four years by the Brazilian solo developer Sandro Luiz de Paula (ansdor) who has built his own custom game engine that recreates the sprite scaling graphics techniques used in 80s and 90s racing games to bring you that authentic retro experience on modern hardware, while also providing smooth gameplay that runs at 60 FPS.

Slipstream will also offer local split-screen fun for four players, rewind mechanics, twenty different tracks, five playable cars inspired by models from the 80s and 90s and some accessibility options like difficulty levels, visual effects than can be switched on or off, and an adjustable game speed. The game will also offer six different game modes varying from the Grand Tour mode that lets you race through five stages, and a Single Race mode that simply lets you race one single race to Time Trials where you can race against time and try to improve your own records.
