Retro FPS ‘Sequel’ Phantom Fury shows new gameplay footage before launch

If you’ve never heard of Ion Fury, go check it out! It’s only one of the best retro FPS games out there that’s really close to the original deal from back in the day. At the end of 2023, we also had the official DLC named Ion Fury: Aftershock, and now we are getting Phantom Fury on the 23rd of April. Now you might think that, in all logical senses, this would be a sequel to the Ion Fury game, but not really according to the developers. While Phantom Fury takes place a couple of years after the events of Ion Fury, and while the main character is the same damned character, it’s more of a “soft sequel” as named in the new gameplay video below. Looking closely at the footage, we do see some differences such as more of an early 3D graphics approach for weapons instead of using sprites. How much else is different you can see for yourself, it seems like it’s even more story-driven gameplay this time? Who knows! After the success of the last game, we are excited to see what this one will bring.
