Space Adventure Cobra gets a new trailer and a demo
Microids has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening, their upcoming video game adaptation of the classic anime series. Developed by Magic Pockets, the game brings to life the first 12 episodes of the anime, focusing on the Captain Nelson’s Treasure arc. Players will step into the role of Cobra, the charismatic space outlaw armed with the iconic Psychogun, alongside his companion Armaroid Lady. Players can master Cobra’s signature weapons and gadgets, such as the Colt Python 77 and grappling hook, while navigating an adventure filled with familiar characters like the Royal Sisters and the villainous Crystal Bowie. Both solo and two-player co-op modes are available, with multiple difficulty settings catering to a range of play styles.
The new trailer highlights a faithful adaptation of the anime’s sci-fi world, combining action and platforming across exotic planets, traps, and boss battles. In addition to the trailer, a playable demo is now accessible on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 26, 2025, with digital editions offering bonus content, including missions, cosmetic skins, a digital artbook, and the original soundtrack.
