This movie tells the true story of the low-profile British businessman Greville Wynne (Benedict Cumberbatch), who was unwittingly recruited into one of the greatest international conflicts in history. One day, he is suddenly contacted by the CIA and MI-6, wanting to send him as a spy to Moscow to contact Soviet officer Penkovsky. Despite Greville’s total lack of experience, these two men form an unlikely partnership hoping to prevent a nuclear confrontation. They work together to smuggle classified state information out of the country and thus provide the crucial intelligence used to defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis. A perilous mission and a race against time, because the chance of a nuclear confrontation increases every day…
