The game is afoot! Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One arrives next month!
If you like mystery games or are a fan of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes (or perhaps even both), you’re in for a treat next month, when developer Frogwares’ latest game is released. In Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, players must pick up their magnifying glass and put on their deerstalker cap as they aid the master sleuth in solving mind-boggling cases. In the run-up to the release, a series of deep-dive showcases featuring the core mechanics of the game have been added to Frogwares’ YouTube channel. The latest video showcase delves into the heart of what makes Sherlock a master sleuth, his detective skills, and what normally goes into solving a case. The trailer also reveals that Sherlock’s infamous brother, Mycroft, is also part of the game.
The video runs for nearly four minutes and puts emphasis on sweeping for clues, identifying suspects, disguising yourself, looking at the evidence, piecing it all together, and finally deciding what constitutes a crime. The game is set on the fictional island of Cordona, where not everything is equal, and what is a crime in the eyes of someone might be right in the eyes of others. It is up to players -in the guise of the young Sherlock- to decide what is right, and live with the consequences. Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will be released on PC (Steam, Epic, GOG), PS5, Xbox Series X|S on November 16th, and later for PS4 and Xbox One. All pre-orders come with a free copy of Sherlock Holmes Crimes & Punishments and additional in-game content.
