Those who attended Gamescom last weekend had a chance to play The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III – the third and also latest installment of the Van Helsing series from NeoCore Games.

Those who don’t know the Van Helsing series, the games are action RPG’s based on the Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. The game follows Van Helsing, the son of the legendary vampire hunter named Abraham Van Helsing from the book. Set in a gothic-oir 19th century Eastern Europe, we follow Van Helsing to Borgovia where a war erupted. In the second installment of the series, the story continues where the first one ended – the war has been won but this leaves Borgovia open for any kind of evil to rise. Another war erupted. The last installment of the trilogy focuses more or less on the tranquility after the Civil War has ended as Borgovia tries to heal itself from the previous burdens. In the meantime Van Helsing will try to seek out Prisoner Seven, a powerful creature who was our most helpful ally in the second installment but betrayed us at the end. As the third game is also the last game in the trilogy, we will also learn more about our ghostly companion, Lady Katarina, who continues to be by our side in the third installment.

Feature wise, you will have the possibility to import characters from the previous games once again and a new level cap is added. This time you are able to level up to 90. Just like the previous games, you can play solo as well as play in a four-player co-op. The eight player PvP mode is still around for those who want to continue to test their skills. The tower-defense mini-game features that were first found in the second game continue to exist in the third episode.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is set to release in the first half of 2015. Based on the previous releases, we may expect the game around May. Just like the previous games, the price will stay at 14.99 USD or 14.99 Euros. NeoCore Games mentioned at Gamescom that the game will release on PC and Mac but a release on the Xbox One is also expected. A release for the PlayStation 4 may come but the main focus remains on the PC version before porting the game to a console.
