The Quarry gets us hyped with an in-depth gameplay trailer
Ever since Until Dawn, 2K and Supermassive Games have been trying to emulate that classic teen horror movie flick feel that the game had and which made it so successful. If they’ve managed to do that in previous titles remains debatable, but their newest project The Quarry sure is looking promising. Once again the setting and premise seem cliché – this isn’t the first time a summer camp has been the setting for horror by far – but we know these devs have some tricks up their sleeves. In their newly released trailer, director Will Byles talks in-depth about the story behind the game, the gameplay mechanics we can expect, and the multiplayer mode which will allow up to seven extra people to watch you play and vote on every decision. And since this is the sort of narrative where a single choice can have drastic consequences, this could have a disastrous outcome.
The Quarry releases on June 10th. Pre-orders for the game are already available and come with a Horror History Visual Filter Pack that allows you to add a horror movie visual effect to the game as you play.
