The Spice Wars take to the skies with Dune: Spice Wars’ new content update

Today sees the launch of the third major Early Access update for Dune: Spice Wars. This new update adds a significant expansion to the 4X RTS game from Northgard developer Shiro Games and co-publisher Funcom. The previous update introduced a new faction, Imperial House Corrino as well as the highly anticipated multiplayer mode, and this new content expansion, appropriately titled Air & Sand, brings a whole new dimension to combat with flying units, along with a long list of other improvements and additions across every aspect of the game. New Ship and Frigate units are capable of traversing the map without fear of sandworms, adding a new layer of combat strategy to the battlefield. Lore and theme gameplay are also fleshed out, with spy missions, political resolutions, and brand-new Spacing Guild mechanics.

Additionally, balancing has been tweaked, quests updated, the UI and multiplayer chat system improved, new village features and Sietches added – the list goes on. Even bigger news perhaps is that Dune: Spice Wars is now available on PC Game Pass. If you don’t have Game Pass, don’t fret: a 20% discount currently applies to the Steam version of the game. We previewed Dune: Spice Wars prior to the arrival of any major content updates and already loved what the game had to offer, so if you’re a 4X fan, we highly recommend giving the game a try.
