Warpips hits Steam Early Access this week

Publisher Daedalic Entertainment is perhaps best known for bringing point-and-click adventures to consoles, so today’s announcement might seem a bit unusual as they are teaming up with developer Skirmish Mode Games to bring Warpips to the masses. Warpips is a strategic, single-player game of pixelated warfare. The game launches this Thursday, April the 29th on Steam Early Access for Windows PC. With over three years of development behind it, Warpips is set to deliver a game where players can build their own army from a diverse roster of powerful vehicles and infantry. The game’s unique selling point is that it eliminates pesky micromanagement and instead focuses on setting loose the engine of war upon your enemies.

The Early Access version offers up three campaign maps with over 50 levels, for roughly 10 hours of gameplay. With 24 player roster units and 15 enemy roster units, Warpips’ Early Access should give a decent impression of what the full game will be like, and Skirmish Mode Games will make further adjustments based on player feedback. We’ve got a trailer below so you can get a good impression of what the game will be like, and you can start playing Warpips later this week when it launches on Thursday through Steam Early Access.
