Ys Origin is coming to the Xbox One!
Independent developer/publisher Dotemu (known for Windjammers, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap) announced today that they will focus themselves in the future more on reviving retro franchises. The first project that saw the light in this context is Ys Origin. It already received an PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release and now an Xbox One release is coming next spring – a first for this series! In any case, the PlayStation release was well received.
Ys Origin is a fast pace action and puzzler platformer set 700 years before the events of Ys I & II. The land of Ys is on the brink of destruction because of invading demons. This forced Ys’s rulers, the twin Goddesses, to flee with the people into the clouds. In response the demons start building a giant tower in pursuit, shifting the battlefield from the ground to above.
