Age of Wonders III new expansion announced

Good news for those who can’t get enough of the strategy game Age of Wonders III. Another expansion pack has been announced which goes by the name of ‘Eternal Lords’. Let’s take a quick look at some of the many new features:

  • The Necromancer Player Class: Well yes, from now on, you’ll be able to summon the dead and order them around. One of the units you might summon is the Bone Collector, a crablike monster which feeds on corpses to become stronger. Yikes!
  • Keeper, Grey Guard and Shadow Born Leader Specializations: Aside from a new class, some new specializations were thrown in the mix. Be a good guy and fulfill your duty as a Keeper or join the Dark Side as a Shadow Born Leader!
  • Frostling Player Race: The goodies keep coming and here’s another great one for you: a whole new race. Frostlings are a kind of humanoids which originate from the North. They like to go on a raid rampage in the warmer lands and they are led by Ice Queens. Frostlings are good in seafaring and possess … well … frost magic.
  • A dozen Mysterious Map Locations: Not a lot of explanation needed here but a lot of new map locations will bring joy to the explorer within you.
  • And a lot more!

The expansion will come out on the 14th of April and will cost about € 19.99/$ 19.99. Both Mac and Linux users will be able to play the expansion as well as on the same date, a port of the game will come out for those platforms.

To get a first look at all those new features, here’s the very first trailer for Age of Wonders III: Eternal Lords!

I am personally looking towards the necromancers, I found the current classes lacking bit of the eviler aspect of magic use. Frostlings.. not so much.
