Maze-building app Mazecraft receives a major update

The hit maze building app Mazecraft that is exclusively available for iOS touch devices has received a major update today. Developed by the indie development studio Hyper Liger, Mazecraft is a community-driven game, currently featuring over 3 million user-crafted mazes.

The Tropical Island themed update adds innovative features to the game as well as a ton of content with a myriad of new ways to trap, frustrate and fool your friends. The island however is not without danger as it’s filled with fire-spewing volcanoes and tricky statues that can skewer players with spikes. Boats and bridges await the player but even the sea is not a safe place to be as it’s loaded with sharks, octopi and piranhas. And if this is not enough danger for you, the mainland has barrel-hurling gorillas and a witch doctor’ curse.

Although Mazecraft is a simple mobile game, it has plenty of strong features including the community-driven mazes. Here’s an overview:

  • Build dangerous mazes, equipped with dozens of items, traps and creatures
  • Share your creations with the world, growing the already insane amount of community-created mazes
  • Watch replays of your friends trying to solve your mysterious mazes
  • Level up and unlock new costumes
  • Collect hundreds of prizes
  • Push a rabbit down a hole although I’m not quite sure why you would even poke an adorable, fluffy creature unless it’s a murderous bunny
