Today Frontier, Cambridge based games developer and publisher of the popular 1:1 star ship RPG experience Elite Dangerous, release the gameplay reveal of their highly anticipated Odyssey expansion, launching in early 2021.
For the first time in the popular space exploration game Elite Dangerous, players will find themselves exploring distant worlds on foot, taking on new missions and engaging in intense tactical combat, seamlessly merging with Elite Dangerous’ iconic cockpit experience players know and love. From being able to customize their characters for ground operations with different specialized suits and gear options and meeting “Face to Face” with other Commanders in social hubs across the galaxy, players will have a whole new game experience. These hubs will also provide ideal locations to plan their next move, form alliances and acquire and upgrade new equipment.
When the combat takes hold, there will be multiple spheres of action to consider, with star-ships, ground vehicles and commanders collide during devastating air-to-ground firefights. Will you go for the tactical approach, or dive in all guns blazing?
Coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, pre-order is available now for Windows PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and FrontierStore.net. Prospective Commanders can now pre-order the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey expansion with an SRP of £29.99/$39.99/€34.99. Also available today is the Deluxe Alpha expansion pack, with an SRP of £39.99/$54.99/€46.99, including the Odyssey expansion, Alpha/Beta access and the official soundtrack. Both pre-order packs grant access to the exclusive Pioneer suit skin as a pre-order bonus.
