Medion Erazer Crawler E25 – Hardware Review
Even though many may see Medion as a budget-bin brand, the hardware manufacturer has been going strong for a very long time. While their regular desktop PCs and notebooks were often directed towards a more casual audience, Medion has been focusing on proper gaming experiences for a while now as well. Not only does the brand always offer extremely competitive prices, it often uses the same pricey internal hardware as other brands do, making sure you’re still getting a massive bang for your buck. This time we’re looking at a proper gaming laptop that comes at an extremely affordable price, namely the Erazer Crawler E25.
Design
The Erazer Crawler E25 has a surprisingly sleek, elegant, and sober design. The laptop has a matte black finish, and only has the Medion brand name underneath the frame of the screen. The rest of the frame has also been kept to a minimum, making sure all space is utilized for your screen. On the top of the laptop, you’ll find the Erazer name and a subtle logo. This logo made us somewhat think of a toned-down version of Acer’s Predator logo. Nonetheless, it looks very classy and of premium quality. Other than that, the device has no extremely noticeable features, safe for the LED lighting in the keyboard keys.
Comfort
Medion went all-out for their device and made sure it came with a proper numeric pad as well. This is something that wasn’t available on the smaller Acer Predator Triton 300 SE. For the Erazer Crawler E25, you’ll still have enough key spacing to ensure comfortable gaming sessions, and you’re also able to change the LED settings of the keys. The device also comes with specific double-function buttons, allowing you to finetune your settings on the go. These buttons include options for your LED lighting, volume controls, locking the Windows key, and so on.
The device weighs around 2.1 kgs, which is still fairly light for a gaming device. This means that it’s still easy to carry around, especially when you like to game at other locations. Keep in mind, the power supply adds roughly another 0.5 kgs to the equation.
Overall, the fans weren’t extremely noisy on this device, which is certainly a plus when gaming. We tried out Call of Duty: Vanguard on the device, and it still ran fairly well, and we weren’t bombarded with loud fan noises. This is certainly a plus if you prefer gaming without a headset. The device didn’t really offer any dedicated settings for fan control via the Medion control panel, which only aids you with your LED settings.

Overview
Medion’s Erazer Crawler E25 is an amazing device for its asking price. For roughly 999 Euros, you’ll get a gaming laptop that is capable of running most modern games smoothly on moderate settings. We realize this may not sound super impressive, but we could run heavy new games reasonably well with the device, and we didn’t really experience any lag or stutters. Opting for a device with similar hardware in it, but perhaps a slightly better GPU, will often set you back double the amount you’re paying here. We experienced smooth sailing from start to finish during our gaming sessions, and the only thing slowing us down was the new Windows 11, which comes pre-installed on this device. The device doesn’t come with any special dedicated software, except for the LED control settings (shown on the screenshot above).
As is common with these devices, the battery life is horrendous if you wish to play games without having the power supply plugged in. If you’re playing heavier games, such as the aforementioned CoD, then you’ll only get roughly one hour of gaming time out of the device before your battery runs out. Then again, this is even true for many heavier gaming laptops where gaming just drains the battery, forcing you to have the power supply connected when getting some serious gaming done. This is of course also the tradeoff you’ll make for owning a proper gaming laptop, compared to your run-of-the-mill notebook that can only handle some browsing and Netflix.
Conclusion
Medion’s Erazer Crawler E25 is a powerhouse for its asking price. Not only will you be getting a great gaming companion, but you’ll also have one that looks good and feels like a proper quality device. While this one will not be running the newest and heaviest titles on Ultra settings, you’ll be able to play most modern games without too many issues. This laptop is a great device for fans of heavier indie games, but also mainstream gamers who do not mind seeing a few pixels here and there.
