Angry Birds Movie Comics #2 Nooit Eens Rust… – Comic Book Review
Once again, we got the opportunity to review a new Angry Birds release. We already reviewed the first issue of a new Angry Birds comic book series called ‘Angry Birds Movie Comics’ a few months ago, and now the time has come to take a look at the second issue of this series. Once again, we get treated to the adventures of Red and the others, be it short gags rather than one big story.
As said before, this comic book again consists out of several gags that stand on their own. Red is usually the one taking the lead, even though Stella also steals the show more than once. While the underlying plot with Red is often him trying to do good, yet not succeeding, Stella is always the one looking to be noticed, as she knows very well that she is a good looking bird.
There are not that many gags in this issue, because the gags are usually quite long. That way, the whole background is properly laid out, and they become little stories, as well as gags. Nonetheless, all of these could easily have done with a few pages less, simply because the story is not that elaborate. Most of the gags do stay fresh though, and have an ending that might still surprise.
Just like in the previous issue, the angry birds don’t look like their usual self, being fluffy balls with wings and a beak, but they all look more like proper birds, though still drawn with a lot of imagination and still quite recognizable as well. In short, as the title also suggests, they look like how they look in the Angry Birds movie, be it drawn, rather than animated. It’s a style we can get used to, even though we did like them a lot as fluffy balls as well.
Conclusion
Angry Birds Movie Comics #2 Nooit Eens Rust… provides you with a few gags, mainly revolving around either Red or Stella, that are usually quite long, yet not that elaborate. Nonetheless, the gags are funny enough and will give you a fun time while reading them. The illustrations are different than what we are used to see, yet this way the angry birds resemble their animated selves from the movie. All in all, this album is quite a fun addition to the Angry Birds universe.
