Acer has announced updates for some of their most popular gaming laptops

Acer has announced that big updates are coming to their popular gaming laptops: Predator Triton 300, Predator Helios 300, and Nitro 5. The laptops have been updated and feature the latest 11th generation Intel® Core™ H-series processors and GPUs from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series, including the new GeForce RTX 3050 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. In addition to several other updates, the improvements to the screen displays ensure that gamers can enjoy this power boost as much as possible.

Predator Triton 300

The Predator Triton 300 (PT315-53) is 19.9 mm thin, making this extremely strong laptop easy to fit in any backpack or briefcase. The laptop’s all-metal enclosure houses an 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processor that can reach up to 4.6 GHz, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU for laptops, and also houses up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, making the laptop suitable for the latest games. Users can choose between two different panels: those who want to bring their games fully to life can choose a QHD display with 165 Hz; users who want to enjoy all possible benefits will more likely go for the blazing fast 360 Hz FHD display. To top it all off, the 3ms overdrive response time allows users to run the laptop at high revs smoothly and hassle-free.

The laptop has a dual cooling system to keep all components cool while playing a heavy game. One of these cooling systems is the latest 5th generation AeroBlade™ 3D fan. This specially designed fan features 89 metal blades that are 0.08 mm thin and have bionically designed wingtips that allow greater airflow with minimal turbulence, resulting in an airflow that is 55% higher than a plastic fan. The cooling capacity is further increased by dedicated heat pipes for the GPU and CPU and strategically placed inlet and outlet vents for maximum cooling efficiency, ultimately leading to better performance.

The four-zone RGB keyboard backlighting allows users to further personalize their laptop, e.g. colored WASD and arrow keys, making the movement keys stand out. The DTS: X Ultrasound turns any headset or speaker set into a 360° surround sound system, so now, the movements of opponents are more noticeable and music and films get a more realistic, spatial sound. Thanks to Intel® Killer™ E2600G Ethernet, Intel™ WiFi 6 AX1650i, and Control Center 2.0, users experience less latency. The large number of ports offers players many options, with HDMI 2.1 for connecting an external display, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, a Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and USB Type-C (Thunderbolt™ 4), the possibilities for connecting peripheral equipment are endless.

Predator Helios 300

The new Predator Helios 300 has everything gamers need to beat their competition: an 11th Gen processor from the Intel Core H-Series, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU for laptops, and up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. All that power is backed up by Acer’s 5th generation AeroBlade™ 3D fan, a specially designed fan with 89 metal blades that are 0.08mm thin. This ensures an airflow that is 55% higher than with a plastic fan. The 17-inch model also features Acer’s Vortex Flow design, a strategic cooling design designed to generate aerodynamic currents to better cool the CPU and GPU while lowering the case temperature.

This power is reflected on one of the two screens: a super-fast FHD panel with 360 Hz or a beautiful QHD panel with 165 Hz. Both screens have an overdrive response time of 3 ms to run smoothly at full speed with minimal ghosting. The slick looks are extended to the keyboard, which has 4 RGB zones and transparent, concave covers on the WASD keys. Unlike a standard keyboard, this laptop features a Turbo key that allows users to instantly activate overclocking and a PredatorSense™ key that opens the dedicated utility app that allows users to monitor the system or overclocking, adjust RGB preferences, and much much more.

The laptop features an Intel® Killer™ E2600 Ethernet controller, Intel® Killer™ WiFi 6 AX1650i, and Control Center 2.0 for low latency and a more reliable connection, plus DTS: X Ultra. The laptop also offers a range of USB 3.2 ports, including an incredibly fast Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C port with support for DisplayPort and power delivery. It also has an HDMI 2.1 port, so gamers can easily connect their laptop to an external monitor. Finally, the 2TB HDD drive offers enough space for all the games that users have in their library.

Acer Nitro 5

This generation of the Nitro 5 is a real powerhouse: the models feature the latest 11th generation Intel Core H-series processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU for laptops, and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. These powerful specifications drive the 15.6-inch (AN515-57) or 17.3-inch (AN517-54) QHD IPS display to a 165 Hz refresh rate with a 3ms response time 80% screen-to-body ratio ensures that players see more of the game and less of the edges. Besides the great speed, the Nitro 5 also offers a lot of storage space: two M.2 PCIe or SATA SSD slots offer a maximum memory of 1 (Raid 0) or 2 TB (HDD), so that players always have their games, movies, streams, etc. at hand.

Various specially designed Acer technologies keep the hardware running as cool as possible; Acer Coolboost™ technology, a dual-fan, a strategically placed air intake, and an exhaust with four vents provide 10% faster fan speed and 9% better CPU and GPU cooling compared to automatic mode. In situations where less power is needed, users can use the dedicated NitroSense button to control system performance, select a preset cooling mode or set their own mode. It also provides access to a number of other system customizations, such as LCD overdrive or the six different sound modes of Acer TrueHarmony™.

The Acer Nitro 5 also has a few nice functions and handy gadgets. Four-zone RGB lighting gives users full control over their keyboard, which provides 1.6mm travel for all keys. The models in this series are also equipped with a completely black Precision Touchpad. The laptop also features a variety of connection options, including an RJ45 and HDMI 2.1 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, and two Gen 1 ports, plus a USB Type-C™ (Thunderbolt™ 4) port. The charging port has been moved to the back, which makes the device look neater and uncluttered.
