Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is out now
KOEI TECMO America and developer GUST Studios have announced that their JRPG Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is now available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam. A brand-new trailer was released alongside the announcement to introduce the adventure that takes place after the events of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book.
Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream introduces a completely new adventure for Sophie and Plachta. After leaving Sophie’s hometown, the pair gets pulled into a mysterious vortex and is launched into the dream-like world of Erde Wiege, separating the pair. Sophie then sets off on a quest to find her best friend and return home, meeting a variety of new characters along the way.
Throughout the journey, Sophie will explore Erde Wiege and encounter an abundance of resources and materials. Once materials are gathered, they can be used in the Atelier series’ staple synthesis system. When harvesting materials in the world, players will have to fight a slew of different creatures. For the first time in the series, Atelier Sophie 2 features a seamless battle system without any load times or separate screens, allowing gameplay to flow seamlessly between exploration and combat.
