Baldur’s Gate 3 – New update introduces Barbarians
The upcoming seventh major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is called ‘Absolute Frenzy’, and will introduce the playable Barbarian class and the soon-to-be world-famous sport of goblin-tossing (AKA Improvised Weapons), alongside many other additions, changes and fixes. This patch was revealed during Panel From Hell: 5th Edition live show, on February 15. You can re-watch the Panel From Hell: 5th Edition video on the Larian Studios YouTube and Twitch channels.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a party-based RPG, based on the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing system. This game is currently in Early Access since October 2020, you can read a preview of Baldur’s Gate 3 here. This game is developed and published by Larian Studios, and available on Google Stadia, MacOS & Windows PC (via Steam).
Next to the introduction of the Barbarian class – with two sub-classes, patch 7 opens up new ways to approach adventuring in Faerun, like a fog of war mechanic that obfuscates unexplored rooms, and tweaks to Darkvision and light/dark detection that make for much more effective stealth gameplay. Additionally, the Improvised Weapons mechanic can make almost anything into a deadly projectile to be hurled at your foes! This patch also introduces thrown weapons, new magic loot, a total UI overhaul, and upgraded cinematics. Patch 7: Absolute Frenzy will be available to Baldur’s Gate 3 players later on February 15.
