Bandai Namco’s Shadow Labyrinth will be released in July!
Shadow Labyrinth offers a world full of mazes to explore and secrets about the planet and its inhabitants to uncover. One of its secrets is a dark version of the iconic PAC-MAN. Bandai Namco’s Shadow Labyrinth is an action-packed 2D platformer that combines classic mechanics with modern design. Players will journey through a hostile planet where new and familiar dangers challenge them and where they must explore, hunt, and consume dark creatures to grow from prey to apex predator. The story draws on more inspiration than just PAC-MAN and taps into Bandai Namco’s wider library of beloved classic games.
Recently, a new trailer highlighting never-before-seen gameplay was revealed, including a first glimpse of a powerful mode that players unlock as they progress through the game. In this mode, players take the form of a huge robotic mech called GAIA. GAIA deals devastating damage to enemies. It’s the latest unveiling of multiple game modes, along with fast and agile Swordsman No.8 melee combat and the Mini PUCK mode in which players can explore small areas in classic PAC-MAN style.
Shadow Labyrinth will be released on 18 July 2025 and is now available for pre-orders on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch will begin soon. Two different versions are available: Digital Standard Edition and Digital Standard Deluxe Edition. Both feature the base game and original Arcade Sound FX as a pre-order bonus. The Deluxe Edition also offers a digital artbook and soundtrack.
