Biotope – Aquarium Simulator now in early access on Steam
PC video games publisher 2tainment and independent studio MBL Development are releasing Biotope – Aquarium Simulator in early access on Steam today. Biotope is a photorealistic aquarium simulator available on PC. The game makes it possible to cultivate, breed and trade populations of fishes and plants, and actively influence their life cycle. Players can use authentic equipment such as filter pumps, lamps, and decorative objects.
The early access version features three starter kits: an empty tank (tutorial level), Amazon and Malawi aquariums. Players are encouraged to manage a monthly budget and keep an eye on a variety of statistics. They can breed healthy and robust animals to increase the DNA rating of their fishes to the maximum. Taking care of the fish and keeping their stress levels low is key to progressing, as a stressed fish will quickly get sick and will not reproduce. Healthy and happy fish will reward the player with good breeding values and offspring, which will earn money to expand the aquarium.
Biotope will be released in early access and it will remain like that between 6-12 months. The full version of the game will contain more chemical and biological stats to manage.
