Cardfight!! Vanguard Special Series: Festival Booster 2025
We can’t believe it’s already been a year since the release of the Festival Booster 2024 for Cardfight!! Vanguard. This particular Booster Pack series always brings some new interesting cards to the table (quite literally) as well as much-needed reprints for hard-to-get staple cards. This is also the case with the new Festival Booster 2025 that brings reprints, new Vanguards, and illustrious Ace Units for you to collect and play.
Just like the previous Festival Booster set, each separate booster will only contain three cards. Luckily, you’ll get a high rarity card in each of these single booster packs, making it a really good investment for your current or future Cardfight!! Vanguard decks. You’ll get a minimum of an RR card or higher out of each pack and one or two additional Trigger cards. The latter depends on whether you have multiple foiled cards in a single pack. This means that every single booster will present you with shiny new cards and Triggers to complete your favorite decks.
As mentioned above, quite a few new interesting cards are being released with this set. For example, King of Knights, Alfred, makes a triumphant return in the Standard format. Alfred relies on the power of their trusty Rear-Guards and will gain additional power for each unit on the field if Alfred has a card with Blaster Blade in its name in its Soul. On top of that, Alfred can call additional units to the field and can even Stand one or two units. Other new releases include a hefty boost for the original Vyrgilla with the release of Vyrgilla, “Rewrite Form: Alfknights”. This new power-up for the Stardust Blade deck allows players to perform additional attacks, search their decks, and even gain an extra drive check when attacking. Last but not least, there is the English release of Blaster Blade, The Vanguard!!!, allowing for Majesty Lord Blaster enthusiasts to upgrade their decks. This new unit powers up Majesty Lord Blaster when it’s in its soul. When the right conditions are met, you can even Ride Blaster Blade, The Vanguard!!! from hand at the end of the battle your Grade 3 Vanguard with Blaster in its card name attacked. This will give you even more attacks during your turn.
With the release of this new Booster Pack comes the introduction of Ace Units. These Ace Units are new unit cards that can only be played once per deck. Each nation has its respective Ace Unit, and each of these units comes with a Unique Skill. A Unique Skill can only be played once per fight, but luckily, the Ace Units still have another skill that powers up their combat potential. These newly introduced units can give you an edge in the fight, as some can call additional units from your deck or drop, and they can come with interesting abilities such as allowing units to return to hand at the end of your turn, for example. There is currently only one Ace Unit per nation in this set, but who knows, in the future, more options may become available. Each of the Festival Booster 2025 displays comes with a random Ace Unit.
Outside of the Ace Units, the Festival Booster 2025 also has interesting new Vanguard cards to offer for the Start Up Trial Decks with fancy art from the CoroCoro Start Deck Pack characters. These new Vanguards combine possibilities for Dual Nation CoroCoro cards and support cards for the different Start Up Trial Decks. With the coming of these new Vanguard cards, you’ll have a host of new deck recipes to tinker around with, hopefully find the right one that matches your playstyle.
