Celebrate International Viking Day with a special video for NORSE: Oath of Blood!
Tripwire Presents and Arctic Hazard marked International Viking Day with the release of a new trailer for their upcoming Viking-age, turn-based tactical title. The trailer offers a glimpse into the story of betrayal and revenge, as well as a broader look at the Viking culture in the game. It’s currently in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S and is scheduled to release this year.
In NORSE: Oath of Blood, you’ll step into a dark-age Norway, entering the midst of the Viking Age. In the game, you’ll play as Gunnar, whose destiny is forged in blood and betrayal. His father, Jarl Gripr, is murdered by Steinarr Far-Spear, who usurps his high seat. Gunnar’s mission is clear: rebuild, ally, and rise to reclaim honor and justice.
To do so, you’ll have to gather resources and craft a settlement, making sure it grows to be a thriving stronghold. Additionally, you’ll have to gather allies and become the commander of a warband. You’ll have to take on rivaling clans by commanding that warband in tactical turn-based battles where positioning, terrain, and timing determine survival. Also, bear in mind that every decision counts and influences relationships, shapes alliances, and even impacts the outcome of the story. You’ll be able to experience all of the above in a historically grounded world brought to life by award-winning and Sunday Times bestselling author Giles Kristian.
