Celebrate Valentine’s day with romcom FMV game Ten Dates
Publisher Wales Interactive and developer Good Gate Media have shared their upcoming project, an FMV game called Ten Dates. If you’re not aware, FMV is a genre of video game that’s better described as an interactive movie, with actors playing out the scenes in live-action and player choices driving the narrative. It can be used for a variety of genres, though Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media worked together before to bring us a romantic-comedy FMV called Five Dates, which got favorable reviews. The games aren’t tied together in their story but have a similar premise: you play a young Londoner looking for love. In Ten Days specifically, you can choose to play a male or female character and attend a speed dating event with various love interests. The game has many choices which change your relationships with the characters, multiple endings, queer and disabled representation, and a Streamer modus that allows you to poll the audience on what choices to make. Ten Dates is releasing on Valentine’s day for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, iOS and Android devices. A free demo is available now through Steam.
