Civilization VI – First Look At Gandhi’s India
Another playable nation has been announced for the upcoming strategy behemoth; Civilization VI. If you are at all familiar with the series, then you will not be surprised to discover that India are once more making an appearance, with Gandhi as their leader. In the last Civilization game, India’s unique ability made it reduce the unhappiness of your people when in crowded cities. This time however, Firaxis have taken a different approach by using Religion. Expect to receive powerful faith bonuses for meeting new religions, as well as bonuses for encouraging different religions to enter your lands, creating multicultural cities.
India’s unique improvement is the stepwell, which provides housing and food, as well as rewarding smart tile placement with bonus food or faith. Indian stepwells are man-made ponds that collect water year round for use in farming, drinking and bathing. And if being peaceful does not work out for you, India’s unique unit is the Varu, aka the war elephant. This powerful cavalry unit reduces the strength of adjacent enemies, as well as looking downright awesome. Check out the trailer below for more information.
