Death of a Unicorn gets a home release date!
The dark comedy-horror film Death of a Unicorn, directed by Alex Scharfman, is set to release for digital purchase on the 30th of July, followed by its on-demand debut on 6 August. Featuring a star-studded cast including Jenna Ortega, Paul Rudd, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, and Richard E. Grant, the film blends satire, fantasy, and horror into a cinematic experience. The story follows Elliot (Paul Rudd) and his teenage daughter, Ridley (Jenna Ortega), as they travel to the estate of the affluent Leopold family. Their journey takes a surreal turn when they accidentally hit a unicorn with their car. The Leopolds—owners of a powerful pharmaceutical company—quickly recognize the creature’s unusual healing abilities and set up a laboratory on-site to investigate.
Driven by the prospect of enormous profit, the family proceeds without hesitation, ignoring a series of ominous warnings that follow. As the situation spirals out of control, Death of a Unicorn explores the consequences of unchecked greed and the ethical boundaries of science, all through a sharp comedic and horror-tinged lens.
