Evil Dead: The Game coming to Steam with GOTY edition

Almost a year ago we saw Ash and his companions return to the videogame world in the co-op shooter Evil Dead: The Game. This year, as the game’s anniversary draws close Saber Interactive has announced that the Game of the Year Edition will be released next month, including on Steam. The GOTY version will include all six DLC packs and the upcoming “Who’s Your Daddy” DLC update where we get to play as Brock, Ash his father. These six DLC packs contain a boatload of cosmetic items to customize your favorite heroes and a handful of playable Survivors and Demons with their unique abilities.

In Evil Dead: The Game a team of four players will work together in a 4V1 setting to kick Deadite butt and banish the vile Kandarion Demon, while the other player (or computer) tries to stop them by using its powers of possession to stop the survivors and swallow their souls. Using a wide range of weapons, tools and vehicles to reach your goal while dodging the horrors that are hidden in the woods it is up to wits and teamwork to make sure humanity sees the light of day tomorrow.

A new mode is also announced in the Splatter Royale mode where up to 40 players fight against each other with full crossplay between consoles and PC, so your friends have no more reason to hide behind the excuse of having a different platform.

Key features include:

  • New Survivor – Brock Williams: Ash’s old man himself, Brock is immune to knockbacks and has several auras he can unleash to help his squadmates. These auras change dynamically based on how many Williams family members are on the team.
  • New Demon – Schemer: Based on the notorious demon boss Baal, the Schemer is a trap specialist who confuses Survivors with illusions. His Meat Puppets inflict increased damage with a variety of attacks based on the fear levels of the Survivors.
  • New outfits for Ash, Amanda and Pablo.

Evil Dead: The Game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Epic Games Store with the Steam version coming on April 26.
