Square Enix announces that Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III are available worldwide today for PC (via Steam) and Mobile. The release of these classics is the beginning of the pixel remaster series, where six original FINAL FANTASY games are planned to return as classic versions with modern upgrades.


The three remastered editions breathe new life into these timeless adventures on Steam and mobile platforms, including the following upgrades:

  • Updated 2D graphics reimagined for modern hardware, featuring iconic FINAL FANTASY pixel designs from original artist and current co-developer Kazuko Shibuya.
  • Beautiful new arrangements of the soundtrack curated by original composer Nobuo Uematsu.
  • Improved gameplay, including modernized UI, auto-combat options, and more.
  • Quality-of-life improvements and various extras such as the bestiary, illustration gallery, music player, and the ability to save at any time.


Those who buy the three classics before August 11th on Steam will receive exclusive bonuses, including three re-arranged music tracks, two exclusive wallpapers, and 20% off per title! The special music tracks start as the original tracks but gradually transition into new arrangements. They can only be obtained by purchasing one of the games or the bundle on Steam before August 11. It concerns the following music tracks:

  • FINAL FANTASY – Main Theme (Timelapse Remix), Matoya’s Cave (Timelapse Remix) en Battle (Timelapse Remix)
  • FINAL FANTASY II – Battle Theme 1 (Timelapse Remix), The Rebel Army (Timelapse Remix) en Main Theme (Timelapse Remix)
  • FINAL FANTASY III – Battle 1 (Timelapse Remix), Eternal Wind (Timelapse Remix) en The Boundless Ocean (Timelapse Remix)
