Final Fantasy VIII Remastered’s release date revealed

Today Square Enix finally announced the release date for the long-expected remaster of Final Fantasy VIII. The game will be available as a digital download for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam starting September 3rd. The remaster is Square Enix’s way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved RPG. Graphics have been re-rendered to bring the characters to life like never before. In the story, players join SeeD-recruit Squall Leonhart and resistance fighter Rinoa Heartilly as they attempt to save the world from the military nation of Galbadia.

The remastered edition adds new and enhanced features, such as Battle Assist, which keeps players at full HP and gives them the ability to use Limit Breaks at any time. Other new features include No Encounters, which removes confrontations with enemies to allow players to experience the story in a relaxed way, keeping Event Battles, and 3x Speed Boost to play through the game faster. The Steam version adds even more bonuses, including All Items, All Abilities, GF Max Level, Max Magic, All Limit Breaks and All Cards. For more information regarding these features, and to preorder the game, players can visit a dedicated website. Players that preorder on Steam will receive an exclusive set of wallpapers, while PS4 preorders will net you an exclusive theme.
