First glimpse of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void at Blizzcon 2014
At last, players can catch a first glimpse of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void – the final conclusion of the StarCraft II trilogy which will also feature a standalone game experience. Legacy of the Void picks up the story of Wings of Liberty where the the first expansion Heart of the Swarm left off with new single-player campaign missions. Additionally the game will feature a new co-op mode – Archon Mode – and another gameplay mode called the Allied Commanders.
The Archon Mode, while being a competitive multiplayer mode, is played with friends. Two players will share control over a single base and units as they battle the enemy duo. The newest mode, Allied Commanders, is an objective-based co-op mode where players can team up and take on the roles of the powerful commanders from the StarCraft saga. Both modes offer a unique gameplay experience and will require some tactical decisions when playing with friends.

Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard Entertainment mentions that “the new single-player campaign will wrap up the massive story, and we’re excited to share new game modes that will open up different ways to play the game and additional units that will expand the rich strategic depth of StarCraft II multiplayer.” According to Morhaime, the newest expansion “Legacy of the Void will deliver the quintessential StarCraft II experience”.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is set to release for both Windows and Macintosh systems, a release date is yet to be announced.
