Indie survival horror game Holstin gets weapons trailer + KS announcement!

Polish developer Sonka has released a detailed gameplay trailer for their highly anticipated psychological survival horror game, Holstin. It shows off the wide range of weapons you’ll be able to use as you fight to survive in a 90s Polish lakeside town that’s overrun by unsettling horrors. This arsenal includes weapons ranging from pistols and grenades to Molotov cocktails and even a bow and arrow.
The trailer also features new gameplay footage of the town you’ll be exploring as you search for answers to what happened there. It also suggests that your best friend has gone missing as they left some disturbing messages before disconnecting completely. If you pay close attention, you might be able to pick up a Resident Evil/Silent Hill feel, as they are the main inspiration for this game.
Interesting to know is that Holstin uses Sonka’s custom 2XD Rendering technology which enables real-time lighting in detailed pixel art environments and multiple camera modes. This allows for the inclusion of different in-game perspectives ranging from over-the-shoulder third-person shooting to top-down exploration and side-scrolling platforming.
It’s also important to point out that a major Kickstarter campaign is in the pipeline and will be launched in the summer of 2025. The campaign aims to raise funds to complete the game’s final stages and add additional features. Players can find out more about the game and sign up to be notified when the campaign goes live here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sonkagames/holstin.
Holstin will be coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
