JSAUX FlipGo Portable Monitor Lite 15,6” – Hardware Review
In the past, we have featured quite a few JSAUX products that often revolved around gaming. In more recent times, the hardware developer has gained quite a bit of fame by producing accessories for Valve’s Steam Deck. After that, many of the accessory lines were expanded to cater to owners of different handheld gaming devices. Now, however, we’ll be taking a look at a product of their award-winning line of FlipGo Portable Monitors, namely the Lite 15,6” model. These devices are not meant for gamers and are directed more toward digital nomads or those who want to boost their productivity in an office-like setting. This was our first experience with a so-called dual-stacked monitor, and we loved it for the most part.
Design
The FlipGo Lite sports a very simple design. We’d compare it to a full monitor-sized DS handheld, albeit with a lot less framework. The screens are very slim, and the black frame around them is non-intrusive and very elegant. Only the left and right sides of the monitor (in horizontal position) have a slightly thicker border, but it’s still kept to a minimum. Besides that, you’ll have your connection and additional USB ports, and that’s about it. The hinges stand out slightly more, but it’s still all very subtle. We loved the less is more approach here, as the monitor can fit all different types of office settings, ranging from a classy estate agency to a more general cubicle setting. Of course, as this is still a mobile device first and foremost, it even looks good at the local coffee bar when crunching a few additional numbers for work.
Comfort
Comfort is actually a big factor when purchasing a (dual-stacked) monitor such as this. The device is very light to work with, which makes it easier to pick up when you have a more mobile workspace. Folding the device is easy, and it is also quite simple to either store the monitor in a laptop bag or a laptop compartment of a backpack. Of course, JSAUX also sells its own dedicated FlipGo Carry Bag. The hardware manufacturer also sells additional accessories such as a (magnetic) snap stand, a flex folio and a (magnetic) snap VESA adapter. Depending on the setting you wish to use the dual-stacked monitor in, it might be interesting to take a look at these options.
For our review, we were given both the snap VESA adapter and the snap stand. The snap VESA adapter works as you’d expect, and it fits with all VESA mounts. We were, for example, easily able to use the VESA mount that we utilized for our UPERFECT UGame K118 review several months ago. Of course, you’ll have to keep in mind that it’s still a magnetic VESA adapter, so you’ll have to be careful when picking up the screen or when trying to adjust the angle. The same can be said for the snap stand. The stand can be adjusted in height via its telescopic tube, and you can also slightly alter the viewing angle, of course. We did feel that the accessories were priced a tad too high, but they are functional and decent in quality.
One thing we found a bit odd was the fact that the device comes without an actual USB-C charger, which was supposed to reduce costs. So, if you’re working on a slightly older desktop that doesn’t power the screen itself, you might be out of luck. This means you might have eagerly waited for your monitor to arrive, to then find out you can’t even boot it up. JSAUX is selling a separate USB-C charger for a whopping $27.99, however. Cheaper alternatives are available elsewhere that work perfectly fine.

Overview
If it wasn’t clear by now, the FlipGo Portable Monitor Lite 15,6” is basically the equivalent of two monitors in one. The unique design allows you to either expand your work setup with one bigger screen when you use the UltaView mode or two smaller screens when using the DuoViews mode. When using the mini-HDMI connection, you’ll only be able to use the UltraView mode, as switching to the DuoViews mode will then only show two identical views on both screens. This means that if you’re aiming to expand your setup with two additional (smaller) screens, you’ll have to hook up the device via the USB-C port, and of course, you’ll need a desktop or laptop that supports this. That being said, the actual setup process is simple, as you simply hook up the device, and you’re good to go. The device also has additional USB Ports in case you want to plug in some additional hardware.
As we also cover a lot of gaming hardware, we’re also going to state that the FlipGo Lite is not made for gaming. The device is more suited for an office-like setting, and it serves as a tool to expand your workstation. That being said, the screen quality is decent, and there are no issues with viewing most work-related software. Even so, the resolution isn’t amazing, and the refresh rate is a bit lower compared to more modern monitors. Nonetheless, you’re still getting a very light monitor that’s easy to take with you and that can basically be installed anywhere you’re working. It offers a great tool for those who often work on location. The monitor has no built-in speakers, which is something you also might want to keep in mind.
Conclusion
JSAUX’s FlipGo Portable Monitor Lite 15,6” is a great dual-stacked monitor for an office setting or for digital nomads who work on the go. The versatile monitor provides its user with a decent image quality, and the many different accessories available ensure that you’ll find your pick of the litter to ensure perfect working conditions. While we are still disappointed that basic items such as an AC Adapter are omitted from the package, you’re still looking at a quality item for those looking to expand their workstation.
