Kickstarter campaign announced for Kainga: Seeds of Civilization

Erik Rempen, the solo game designer, has announced Kainga: Seeds of Civilization; a roguelite village-builder where player’s choices will shape the survival of their people.

Taking on the role of the Thinker, the leader of the village, players will need to adapt to the procedurally generated environment in order to make the right choices for their village to thrive. Although the citizens are somewhat expendable, if the Thinker falls, everything will be over. Much like the king in chess, the Thinker must be protected at all costs. Threats may come from all directions and in all shapes: weather events, the environment, wildlife, and raids from other tribes all threaten the tribe’s existence.

In Kainga: Seeds of Civilization, players are only mere participants in the ever-expanding story of the world. Focusing on short 30 minutes to 1-hour challenges, Kainga will present players with unique locations each time, while also allowing them to make progress between runs. In the game, they will be able to tame beasts, improve their units and build legendary structures, with each unlocking more content for future runs.

The game is set to enter Steam Early Access in autumn 2021 following a Kickstarter campaign scheduled to begin on May 18th.
