Meet two playable characters from Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree!
A new trailer for Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree has been revealed at the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase. Its producer, Daisuke Nagaoka, introduced two playable characters from their upcoming roguelite Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree: Rekka and Nishiki.
Rekka is a fiery samurai warrior and the founding master of the Eternal Flame Dojo. She’s sworn to be Towa’s guard but discovers she’s rather clumsy in everyday situations despite her excellent sword-fighting skills. Her ability to wield swords fiercely, combined with strong combos and AOE attacks, makes for a good balance. Nishiki, the pious but somehow muscular koi fish (who, for some reason, can’t swim), travels around and believes that defeating Magatsu is a form of philanthropy. He wishes to join the fight using his highly mobile and combo-heavy style.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, developed by Brownies Inc., is a 2D isometric roguelite providing fast-paced action, hand-drawn characters, stunning landscapes, and a unique soundtrack. The quiet village of Shinju is threatened by an evil called Magatsu, looking to establish dominion. Towa, the priestess of Shinju Village, joins eight unique and trusty companions to defeat Magatsu and his evil minions.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree will be released on September 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
