PAC-MAN celebrates 40th anniversary at Storyworld

Fans of PAC-MAN, take note! The iconic yellow character turns 40 years old this year. To celebrate, Storyworld in the Netherlands is hosting an exposition titled WAKAWAKA! 40 years of PAC-MAN. Being the only museum in Europe to have gotten BANDAI NAMCO’s permission and coöperation for the expo, Storyworld has the unique opportunity to showcase various items from video game history. These include the first pencil sketches of PAC-MAN as well as the first Japanese posters and ads, among many other artefacts. Curator Arjan Tepstra has collected unique PAC-MAN collector’s items from around the world that will be presented at WAKAWAKA! as well.

Of course, visitors will be able to play games of PAC-MAN as well on vintage arcade machines. Fans and collectors alike will also want to pick up the unique anniversary book that will be available at Storyworld. WAKAWAKA! will be open to visit from October 3rd 2020 up until January 10th, 2021. Tickets will allow visitors to enjoy the entirety of Storyworld, not just WAKAWAKA! Reservation of a timeslot is required. Info and tickets are available through storyworld.nl.
