Pedro Almodóvar’s short movie The Human Voice comes out on DVD
The Human Voice is not only a lovely piece of interpersonal fiction, it is also Pedro Almodóvar’s first English-language movie. The Spanish director took inspiration from Jean Cocteau’s play ‘La voix humaine’ to make a short movie about a woman waiting for her cheating husband to come home so she can show him the door, and the various things that go on in her head preceding this life-changing confrontation which quickly takes a turn for the worse. Tilda Swinton plays the main role. The Human Voice will release on DVD on May 21, with the DVD also containing an extensive interview with Pedro Almodóvar and Tilda Swinton as a bonus feature, digging deeper into the motivations behind the movie.
