Rise of the Ronin makes the jump from PS5 to PC today!

Today, KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA released their open-world action RPG, Rise of the Ronin, on PC. Originally launched for PlayStation 5, the game takes players on a journey through the Bakumatsu era, where they control a masterless warrior, or Ronin, seeking to shape their destiny amidst war and political turmoil. Rise of the Ronin is set in 1863 Japan, during a time when the Tokugawa Shogunate’s reign is ending and Western powers are making their presence known. The game immerses players in a period of unrest, where they interact with various historical figures. Players’ decisions, such as choosing whether to assassinate or protect key political figures, will influence both their personal journey and the multiple possible endings.

The game features a deep, accessible combat system, allowing players to customize weapons and combat styles. Players can choose from a variety of melee weapons, including katana, spear, and odachi, each offering different styles of combat. Long-range weapons such as guns and bows are also available, offering varied strategies depending on the situation. The game’s world includes detailed recreations of Edo, Yokohama, and Kyoto, with changing seasonal scenery like cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. Players can also use a grappling rope to reach rooftops or an Avicula glider to explore the air, while a photo mode lets players capture stunning views.

Exclusive features in the Steam version of Rise of the Ronin include:

  • 8K resolution support
  •  DirectX 12 Ultimate support
  •  Ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitor compatibility
  •  120fps support
  •  Ray tracing support
  •  3D audio support
  •  Customizable keyboard and mouse controls
