Since the release, Rocket League has received a couple of DLC packs. Supersonic Fury being the first and Revenge of the Battle-Cars being the second. Now, Psyonix is bringing us a third pack, and it’s not just any pack. A while ago, Back to the Future was wildly celebrated around the world as we hit October the 21st and to celebrate that occasion, you can now get the DeLorean Time Machine in the game with this all new DLC.

The message was simple: people like Back to the Future and the celebration for one of the most anticipated days in the last 30 years was coming up. A perfect opportunity to release a DLC pack all about that day: Back to the Future. This DLC pack brings us one of the most iconic cars in history, the DeLorean Time Machine as seen in the movies. Sadly, it’s the only thing that it brings us.

As expected, the car in the game looks just like the movies. You have a good old pimped DeLorean, complete with accessories and its iconic turning wheels when flying. When boosting you also get sweet flaming tires, and once this baby hits 88 miles an hour all sorts of magic starts happening, well sort of. Once you break the “sound barrier” or whatever happens when you boost for a bit, your flaming tires turn into a flaming trail behind you, which is really cool. Also, when you start flying (boost in the air), your wheels turn horizontally converting it into a real flying car, which is awesome.

However, this DLC pack doesn’t bring a whole lot more. You can’t use a topper, can’t use an antenna, can’t use decals, can’t change wheels and can’t change paint type (you can change color). Maybe this was in the agreement of adopting this car into the game, but it’s not that great considering the game is mostly about customization. This makes the DeLorean feel like just a stock car which you can’t customize whatsoever. Don’t get me wrong it looks cool, but it’s a bummer you cant make it look wacky. Also, you can’t use any of the DeLorean parts on other cars, which is a real shame.

Conclusion

The Back to the Future Car Pack brings the extremely awesome DeLorean Time Machine from the movies into the game. It looks awesome and looks even more awesome when driving. However, it’s not customizable at all except for the color and none of the parts can be used for other cars. Keep that in mind when buying this DLC or you might be disappointed.
