So many colors in the new Metroidvania 9 Years of Shadows
9 Years of Shadows is a game that’s all about that old-school Metroidvania feeling but definitely adds its own unique touch to it. The game was made by developer Halberd Studios and should grace PC gamers with its colorful presence on March 27, 2023, and the Switch people in Q3, 2023. It also feels like a classic Metroidvania because of the story, as we all know that those games used to put the “Good VS Evil” arcs out there to make everybody feel like a hero. In 9 Years of Shadows, the player will take control of the main character Europa to return colors to a cursed grayscale world. Now, this game takes itself very seriously with Michiru Yamane and Norihiko Hibino, composers for the actual Castlevania series and the Metal Gear Solid series.
