State of Mind – Dystopian Adventure Announced!
German developers Daedalic Entertainment have announced an upcoming new dystopian adventure game written by gifted storyteller Martin Ganteföhr. In a futuristic world where resources are scarce and intense government surveillance is the norm, you must take control of several playable characters to explore two contrasting worlds of darkness and light.
In a dystopian world, a family man tries to survive with his family whilst the powers that be, have decided that the solution to all of humanities problems comes in the form of utopian digital world. Whilst being uploaded to the digital world, something goes wrong and Richard Nolan now finds himself split between both places, the dark oppression of the real world, and the paradise of the digital city. There he must re-unite his digital self with his family, but soon comes to realise that his search may not just have the fate of his family at stake, but the fate of all humanity.
Daedalic Entertainment, based in Hamburg, publishes and develops computer and video games for all platforms. The studio focuses on interactive literature and character and narrative-driven games like adventures and RPGs. Daedalic Entertainment has a staff of more than 160 employees, including the Writer’s Room, a team of writers unique to the German media industry.
State of Mind is due to be released in the first quarter of 2017 for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One. Check out some more screenshots below.
