Take five minutes to check out Five More Minutes’ Kickstarter Campaign
Italian indie developer PurpleTurtle has announced the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for Five More Minutes. The roguelite deckbuilder celebrates the golden era of 1990s and early 2000s video games. The project is described as a heartfelt tribute to growing up with gaming, combining nostalgic aesthetics with modern roguelite mechanics. Players take on the role of a young gamer journeying through procedurally generated worlds inspired by iconic game genres of the past. They can choose from three distinct starting characters—the Hero, the Cop, and the Mascot—each representing classic gaming archetypes with unique playstyles and abilities. A mysterious joystick-headed “demon”, who guides players, serves both as mentor and final antagonist.
Blending deckbuilding strategy with an emotional coming-of-age narrative, Five More Minutes invites players to explore the joys and darker sides of gaming culture. Battles are built around a unique four-button resource system—attack, special attack, defense, and utility—encouraging tactical depth and experimentation. Each run offers new challenges, character combinations, and nostalgic references drawn from decades of gaming history. Supporters of the Kickstarter can secure exclusive rewards, including a Steam key, digital soundtrack, and worldwide delivery. The campaign seeks €10,000 in funding, with the full release planned for PC in 2026 and console versions to follow.
