Begin your journey as Louis de Richet on Lord Mortimer’s private island, and try to discover your mother’s fate before it’s too late. That is the goal when playing The Council. In what they’re calling a “new twist for the genre” The Council revolves completely about manipulation, interrogation, and influence, with a unique Social Influence system. As you progress through the game, limited resources become available to you, and it is your job to leverage them to the fullest extent to achieve the desired outcome. Your investigation will be greatly helped by exploiting the character’s psychological vulnerabilities, as well as their preparations made during prior exploration and investigation.
On your travels you will be accompanied by a number of high profile guests, such as Napoleon Bonaparte and President of the newly-formed United States of America, George Washington. The odd nature of this private meeting is also more than it seems, as Richet’s own mother has recently gone missing on the island and each guest seems to have their own hidden objectives and agenda. Develop your skills to help you best on your chosen path, and delve in occultism, history, science, or just plain play a detective in this bizarre story, as you try to save your mother from a certain impending doom.
