Update 1.4 for Starship Troopers: Extermination is now available!
Inspired by the Starship Troopers movie, Starship Troopers: Extermination is an action-packed co-op FPS developed by Offworld and published by Knights Peak. With update 1.4, they’re bringing quite a number of changes to the game. Firstly, you can now equip FedNet cameras to capture the action on the battlefield and earn XP by doing so. Next, if you’ve reached Weapon Mastery level 6 or higher with the Morita MK1, you can now equip an underbarrel attachment. But bear in mind that the rifle’s accuracy will be slightly reduced due to the extra weight. Bugs will also be able to navigate more efficiently and get stuck less often in the environment. And lastly, the gameplay is being improved to refine the game’s core mechanics and enhance the tactical experience on the battlefield.
And that’s not all. Update 1.5 is right around the corner and will bring even more new features to Starship Troopers, including a new weapon, the Morita MK2. In addition, major improvements are coming to the accessibility and usability of Company Operations. Company Operations will also be displayed as a rotating list in the menu from then on, linked to the player’s progress milestones. On top of that, a new quick-play option for Company Ops will be added. Finally, a dynamic sky system is coming to X-11, adding dynamic, evolving skies to the game.
And that’s still not all. The developers have even more in store: Hive Hunt will become a 16-player-only mode. In Hive Hunt, players now have to carry nukes to each hive and detonate them while the rest of the squad protects the nuke carriers. Additionally, spawn tables will get an update to raise the challenge, but the real deal will come with update 1.6, as this is only the first part in renewing the Hive Hunt mode.
