World of Warcraft: Midnight sees its pre-expansion content go live on January 21

In March of 2026, World of Warcraft: Midnight will launch worldwide, giving us the next step in World of Warcraft content. In the meantime, preparations for the expansion are well underway. On January 21, the game will get a massive pre-expansion update to put the World of Warcraft-client into its 12.0 version. In more concrete terms, that means a new class specialization will be available in the form of the Devourer Demon Hunter, a mid-range caster. We’ll also see small tweaks to the UI, item stats, cosmetics, and more. The existing Comp Stomp-brawl will be exchanged for the more extensive Player vs. Player Training Grounds. The update will be followed by special events starting on January 28th, though not much is known about these yet. All of this, as mentioned, is in preparation for the proper update coming on March, for which we’ve included the trailer below.
