XCOM: Enemy Within gameplay
XCOM: Enemy Unknown still stands as one of my favourite games from this generation, I didn’t think we would see a tactical turn-based game on consoles. At the very least I didn’t think we would see one be both commercially and critically acclaimed as Enemy Unknown is. Especially on consoles.
Unfortunately for me The Bureau didn’t quite live up to the lofty expectations many of us had for the newly revived franchise. Instead we are putting all our hopes on the upcoming expansion to Enemy Unknown the aptly titled Enemy Within.
If this gameplay trailer is any indication of what we can expect from the upcoming expansion I doubt we’ll be disappointed.
XCOM: Enemy Within will be launching on both consoles and PC’s on 11/12/13. You can purchase the expansion digitally on PC as an expansion to the original game, sadly those of us who play it on consoles will have to trudge ourselves outside to pick up the game in physical boxes.
Firaxis has stated that the expansion is too large to be put out on consoles as DLC to the game so instead they are forced to release Enemy Within on a separate disc. Which is good for those of you who haven’t picked up the original as Enemy Within contains both Enemy Unknowns content as well as the new expansions.
