New title showcases the main theme for The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story
Square Enix today unveiled a new Main Theme trailer for their upcoming new title The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story. This immersive live-action mystery adventure is coming to PS4, PS5, Switch and PC next month. In the background of the new trailer, you can hear the main theme music “Drifting Fruit English Ver.” by composer Yuki Hayashi, of Dragon Quest fame. Yuki Hayashi has used his experience in various forms of entertainment to connect gameplay with drama and bring this immersive live-action mystery adventure to life. While solving the mystery, players travel through different eras, each of which has been given its own music in The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story. The latest trailer also reveals ten of the main characters, including Nanami Sakuraba as main character Haruka Kagami, Yuta Hiraoka as Eiji Shijima, the second son of the Shijima family, and many others, each playing different roles as part of the game’s multi-role system. While solving the mystery of the ill-fated Shijima family, players may encounter the actors of this enigmatic Japanese adventure in different eras as different characters.
The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story is directed by Koichiro Ito (Metal Gear Solid V) and produced by Junichi Ehera (NieR:Automata), with cinematography by Yasuhito Tachibana (of the Netflix series The Naked Director). The story revolves around the ill-fated Shijima family, who over the past century have had to deal with a series of unexplained deaths in their family. As the mystery novelist Haruka Kagami, players must use their logical thinking skills to discover the truth behind four murder cases that took place in the Shijima household over the past hundred years. Bite into this accessible mystery story, uncover the truth and reveal the culprit! The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story will be released on May the 12th, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
