Tintin gets its first comic republished with a festive event
Tintin in the land of the Soviets was the first adventure of the famous reporter Tintin, also known as Kuifje. To celebrate its 88th birthday the publishers have decided to republish the comic, written by Belgian comic artist Hergé, in colour. A special event like that can’t pass us quietly of course, so it will be celebrated big. To celebrate the comic and its republished version there will be a celebration weekend hosted in Brussels, Belgium. This weekend will take place on Saturday January, 7 and Sunday January, 8 2017.

Saturday, January, 7:
2.00 pm – Tintin arrives at Brussels Central Station. He travels to the Brussels Grand
Place in an Amilcar classic car.
2.30 pm – Tintin arrives at the Grand Place
3.00 pm – Tintin salutes the crowd from the Brussels Town Hall balcony
3.30 pm – The winners of Operation Tintin and Snowy are chosen
4.00 pm – Tintin departs in the Amilcar for the Tintin Hergé Galerie
at the Sablon Square
4.30 pm – Tintin arrives at the Galerie
4.45 pm – Drink
5.30 pm – End
This day there will also be held a contest. Tintin lost his loyal canine compagnon Snowy. You can take your dog with you to the event and whoever has the best Snowy lookalike will be announced winner. On top of that anyone who dresses up as the famous reporter Tintin himself will also receive a small prize.
Sunday, January, 8:
11.00 am – Tintin arrives at the Hergé Museum
11.00 am – Museum visit
2.00 pm – Conference with a presentation of Tintin’s trip
and of the colouring of Soviets
3.00 pm – Birthday cake
4.00 pm – End
